Water intake calculator
Estimate your daily water intake using your body weight and activity level. This estimate is for general education only and should not replace personalised medical advice.
How this is calculated
We start with about 35 ml of water per kilogram of body weight, then add roughly 350 ml for every 30 minutes of exercise. Food contributes some fluid too, so treat this as a rough daily guide rather than an exact target.

Common questions
About the water intake calculator and how to read your result.
Do tea and coffee count?
Yes. Most fluids count toward your daily intake, including tea, coffee, milk and soup. Alcohol does not, and sugary drinks add calories you may not want.
Can I drink too much water?
Yes. Drinking large volumes in a short time can dilute the sodium in your blood. Spread your intake across the day and let thirst guide you.
Do I need more in hot weather?
Usually. Heat, humidity, sweating, pregnancy, breastfeeding and some medications all increase fluid needs. Pale yellow urine is a simple sign you are drinking enough.
